Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 16:12-15

Everything that the Father has is mine.

People of Israel believed in one true God. There was no one equal to him or above him or below him. He was the only one true God. This was their expression and we see this very much expressed in the Old Testament. But they always expected a Messiah. Their experience of god was in redemption (From Egypt) and they expected this God to redeem them always and especially they expected the coming of the Messiah.

Jesus came into the world and expressed himself as the Messiah and the people who followed him experienced in Jesus the works of a Messiah. Jesus also spoke in terms of equality with God and that he was sent by God and sent with a particular mission etc. This Jesus also expressed that the coming of the Spirit was to complete the mission of Jesus in the world.

தந்தையுடையவை யாவும் என்னுடையவையே.

மூவொரு கடவுள் என்பது விவிலிய வெளிப்பாடே. பழைய ஏற்பாட்டில் வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்ட இறைவன் மீட்பராக மீண்டும் வருவார் என்பதும் விவிலியத்தில் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. இந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு இயேசுவில் நிறைவேறுகிறது. தூய ஆவியாரில் அது நிறைவுபெறும்.

GOSPEL READING: MARK 10: 13-16

Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Jews had all kinds of division: gender division, class division, age division etc. Basic structure of the society was seen in division. Division ruled the society. Jesus came and he was trying to remove the division from the mind of the people. The division was followed by exclusion.

Children were part of the social division and they were not allowed to enter into certain areas and they were prevented from certain activities etc. This division extended to an extreme situation of preventing them from even meeting people and relating to people. Jesus told them that in the kingdom there are no division and all are welcome at all times.

சிறு பிள்ளைகளை என்னிடம் வர விடுங்கள். அவர்களைத் தடுக்காதீர்கள். ஏனெனில் இறையாட்சி இத்தகையோருக்கே உரியது.

சமுதாயத்தில் உள்ள பிரிவினைகள் ஏற்ற தாழ்வுகள் இறையாட்சியில் இல்லை. இறையாட்சியில் எல்லாருக்கும் இடமுண்டு. எல்லாரும் வரவேற்கப்படுகிறார்கள் எல்லாரும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்படுகிறார்கள்.
