Breaking the Word

GOSPEL  READING:  LUKE 11: 29-32

 

People in general look for signs. Looking for signs is an indication that there is uncertainty; there is doubt; there is suspicion about the situation. Here, Jesus is preaching the kingdom of God and performing miracles. People see the miracles and hear his preaching, yet they are not convinced. There is an element of doubt in their hearts. (They believe but…).

 

People believed in Solomon and his wisdom; people accepted Jonah and his prophecies. One was a wise king and other was a prophet. Jesus was greater than these two. He was the son of God and the Messiah. Yet people long for signs. Jonah becomes the sign. That is as Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights so will the son of man be. His death and resurrection will be the only sign and there will be no other sign.

நம்பிக்கை குறைவான மக்கள் அடையாளங்களை எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்கள். இயேசுவின் புதுமைகளும் போதனைகளும் அவர்களுக்கு தகுந்த அடையாளங்களாக இல்லை. நம்பிக்கை குறைவான மனதில் சந்தேகம் இருக்கத்தானே செய்யும். யோனாவின் அடையாளம் – மூன்று இரவும் மூன்று பகலும் மீனின் வயிற்றில் இருப்பது. அதேபோல் இறந்து மூன்று நாள்கள் கழித்து உயிர்ப்பதே இயேசுவுக்கு அடையாளம்.

 

 

 

 

GOSPEL  READING:  MATTHEW 6:7-15

 

Praying is a mystery. It is a relationship between God and the one who prays. Prayer is what we recite in places. Jesus went early in the morning for praying.  He went late in the evening for praying. He spent the whole night in praying. We have very little of the content of his prayer (Mt 11:25; Jn 11:41; and Jn 17). These three places Jesus thanks God and praises him and glorifies him and prays for his disciples).

 

The prayer “Our Father” which Jesus teaches his disciples is simple and has the essential elements of prayer. Prayer should of one of praising the Father and thanking the Father. It is a relationship (Father and Son). Prayer is to fulfil God’s plan and usher in His kingdom. It is a moment of building up relationship (forgive us our sins). It is to ask for his care and protection.

செபம் (செபித்தல்) ஒரு மறைபொருள். இறைவனுக்கும் நமக்கும் இடையே உள்ள உறவை வெளிப்படுத்துவது. செபம் சொல்லுதல் வேறு. இயேசு செபித்தார் என்பது நற்செய்தியில் கூறப்படுகிறது. இரவு முழுவதும் செபித்தார்> காலையில் செபித்தார்> மாலையில் செபித்தார் (மத் 11:25@ யோவா 11: 41@ 17). செபித்தலில் நன்றி கூறுதல்> போற்றுதல். இறை சித்தம்> இறை ஆட்சிக்காக வேண்டுதல் போன்ற பண்புகள் காணப்படும்.
