*Feast of St. Francis Xavier — 3rd December 2018 — **Gospel: Mark 16,15-20*
*The Good News to all Creation*
Jesus commissions every disciple of all ages “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation” (16,15). The inclusive nature of Good News is that it is no longer limited to the people of Israel, but to the Jews and Gentiles alike. It is to be proclaimed to all creation in every field of human endeavour. This proclamation of the Good News which began in Jesus at the beginning of the Mark’s gospel (1,15) now concludes mandating his followers. Living the Good News through struggle, misunderstanding, joy, loyalty, suffering until death and with the hope of the resurrection is what following Jesus is all about.
The Good News is that those who believe in Jesus and accept baptism are welcomed into the community of salvation. The Good News is the seed that will be planted in the world and will flourish, in its proper time. This Good News is proclaimed through word and is accompanied by miracles and healings. The wonders are not end in themselves; they are only signs and means. The final goal of evangelization is that all creation may be gathered around the person of the Son of God who became human. In response, the disciples “went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere, while the Lord worked with them.” Though Jesus is enthroned in heaven, he still works with his disciples on earth. He remains present and powerfully at work in the Church throughout the ages.
உலகெல்லாம் சென்று படைப்பிற்கு நற்செய்தியை அறிவியுங்கள் என்பதே இயேசுவின் இறுதிக் கட்டளை. இதனால் நற்செய்தி மனிதர்களின் முயற்சிகள் சூழ்நிலைகளுக்கு ஏற்ப தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட யூதர்களைக் கடந்து புறவினத்தாருக்கும் படைப்பனைத்திற்கும் அறிவிக்கப்படுகின்றன. இந்நற்செய்தியை இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியோடும் கடமை உணர்வோடும் வாழ்வின் இறுதிவரை துன்பங்கள் இடர்பாடுகளுக்கு மத்;தியில் இயேசுவின் உயிர்ப்பிலே எதிர்நோக்கு கொண்டு வாழ வேண்டும். இந்நற்செய்தி ஒரு சிறு விதையாக இவ்வுலகில் விதைக்கப்படுகிறது, சூழ்நிலைக்கு ஏற்ப அது வளர்ச்சியும் விருட்சமும் பெறும். இந்நற்செய்தி இறைவார்த்தையோடும் அருளடையாளங்கள் வல்ல செயல்களோடும் நடப்பட்டாலும், இவ்வியத்தகு செயல்கள் வழியே எல்ல மாந்தருக்கும் படைப்பிற்கும் நற்செய்தியை அறிவிப்பதே ஒரே இலட்சியம். இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள் திருச்சபை வழியாய் அவர்தம் உடனிருப்பையம் வல்லசெயல்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவதையும் உணர்ந்து கொள்வார்கள் .
