*First Week of Advent, Wednesday — 5th December 2018 — **Gospel: Matthew 15,29-37 *
*Jesus, the Convergence of Divine and Human*
As prophetic figures like Moses and Elijah encountered God personally on the mountains. Here too on the mountainside, the cripples, the deformed, the blind and the mute are encountering Jesus, the Messiah. In curing them all completely, he fulfills the prophecy of wiping away their tears, restoring the lost and healing the weak. Jesus words and deeds reveal that the kingdom aims at and ensures not only one’s spiritual well-being, but physical and material well-being as well. In this way, Jesus makes the love and compassion of his Father manifest in the very lives of the people whom he encounters. As the manifestation of God’s plan and action, Jesus replaces the holy mountains as the point of convergence for divine and human.
மோசேவும் எலியாவும் இறைவனின் தனிப்பட்ட அனுபவங்களை திருமலையில் பெற்றது போல, இயேசுவும் மலைப்பகுதியில் அவரைத் தேடி வந்த முடக்குவாதமுற்றோர்> உருக்குலைந்தோர்> பார்வையற்றோர்> பேச்சிழந்தோர் ஆகிய அனைவருக்கும் நிறைவான ஆசிர்வாதத்தினால் இறையனுவத்தை பெற்றுத் தருகின்றார். இவ்வாறு அவர்களின் கண்ணீரைத் துடைத்தார். இழந்ததை திரும்பப்பெறச் செய்தார், பெலவீனமானவர்களை நலம்பெறச் செய்தார். பசித்திருப்போர் நிறைவடையச் செய்தார். இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளும் செயல்களும் முழுமனித நல்வாழ்வை மையப்படுத்தியதாக அமைகிறது. இறைத்தந்தையின் அன்பையும் கருணையும் தம்மைத் தேடிவரும் மக்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தும் அடையாளமாக இவர் விளங்குகின்றார். இயேசுவில் இறைவனின் திட்டங்களும் செயல்களும் திருமலையில் இறைவன்-மனிதன் உறவாக கூர்மைப்படுத்தப்படுகிறது> மற்றும் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.
