*2nd Sunday Advent — 9th December 2018 — **Gospel: Luke 3,1-6*
*New Exodus, fundamental pattern for God’s Salvation *
The Gospel writer, Luke expresses the significance of John’s ministry by describing it as a fulfillment of Isaiah (40,3-5). As a prologue to Isaiah’s message, the clearing of the way prepares for God’s coming with his final salvation. The straight paths are the purified hearts of God’s people. The preparation portrays a new exodus, fundamental pattern of God’s salvation. Just as God led his people in the wilderness, parting the sea before them, God removes all obstacles for them as he delivers them from bondage. Of all the gospels, only Luke concludes the citation of Isaiah with a universal focus: “and all flesh shall see the salvation of God” (3,6). This focus on God’s salvation that is available for all people, not just the people of Israel, is a vital emphasis demonstrated by John through preaching. நற்செய்தியாளர் லூக்கா திருமுழுக்கு யோவானின் பணியை இறைவாக்கினர் எசாயா அறிவிப்பின் நிறைவாக வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றார். எசாயா இறைவாக்கின் தொடக்கமே ஆண்டவருடைய மீட்புக்கான வழியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துவதே. நேரான பாதைகள் என்பது தூய்மையான மக்களின் உள்ளத்தைக் குறிப்பதாகும். இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களை அடிமை நிலையிலிருந்து மீட்க இறைவன் பாலைநிலத்திலும் கடலைப்பிரித்து நடக்கச்செய்தும் எல்லா தடைகளையும் தகர்த்து வழிநடத்திவந்தது போல இத்தயாரிப்பும் கடவுளின் மீட்பை மையப்படுத்திய புதிய விடுதலையனுபவமாகும். நற்செய்தியாளர் லூக்கா மட்டுமே ‘எல்லா மக்களும் மீட்பை கண்டுணர வேண்டும்’ என்ற பொதுப்படை எண்ணத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றார். திருமுழுக்கு யோவானின் போதனையும் இதுவே: இறைவனின் மீட்பு எல்லா மக்களையும் உள்ளடக்கியது.
