*1st Week in Ord. Time, Monday — 14th January 2019 — **Gospel: Mark 1,14-20*
*Kingdom demands personal response*
Jesus announces the reign of God with the sense of urgency: “The Kingdom of God has come near”. This is the heart of the good news Jesus’ proclaimed. He also states that the kingdom will begin only after the fulfilment of time. We see that God always waited for the fixed time to end (Gal 4,4; Eph 1,10) so to begin anew. In Jesus, God is breaking into history to fulfill his promises and to bring his plan of salvation to completion. This decisive time of fulfillment and the breaking in of God’s kingdom demands a twofold personal response: “Repent, and believe in the good news”. Repentance means turning from everything that leads away from God’s reign. Believe means accepting God’s reign and yielding to everything that God is doing in Jesus Christ. The one good news is that now God’s kingdom begins in Jesus for everyone who chooses to accept it and enter into it.
இறையரசின் அவசர தேவையை “இறையாட்சி நெருங்கி வந்துவிட்டது” என்று இயேசு அறிவிக்கிறார். இதுவே இயேசுவினுடைய நற்செய்தியின் மையம். மேலும் இந்த இறையாட்சி காலம் நிறைவுற்ற போது தொடங்கும் என்று அறிவிக்கிறார். எப்பொழுதும் இறைவன் புதியன தொடங்குவதற்கு முன்பாக காலம் நிறைவுற காத்திருந்தார் என காண்கிறோம். கடவுளின் வாக்குறுதிகளை நிறைவேற்றவும் மீட்பின் திட்டத்தை நனவாக்கிடவும் வரலாற்றில் இயேசு நுழைந்திட இறைவன் வரையறுக்கின்றார். இவ்விரு செயல்களும் அரங்கேறிட ஒவ்வொருவரின் தனிப்பட்ட இரட்டை பதிலை முன்வைக்கின்றன: மனந்திரும்புங்கள் மற்றும் நற்செய்தியை நம்புங்கள். மனந்திரும்புதல் என்பது இறையாட்சியிலிருந்து திசைதிருப்பும் எல்லாவற்றிலிருந்தும் விலகி இருத்தலாகும். நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருத்தல் என்பது இறையரசை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு இயேசுவின் வழியில் அனைத்திற்கும் கீழ்படிந்து நம்புவதாகும். நற்செய்தியின் சிறப்பம்சமே இறையாட்சி இயேசுவிலே தொடங்குகின்றது; அதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதும் அதில் நுழைவதும் அவரவர் தனிப்பட்ட தேர்ந்தெடுத்தலாகும்.
