*God’s word directs to Abundance *
Luke refers to the teaching of Jesus as “the word of God” (5,1). The expression emphasizes not only the divine source of Jesus’ words but also the authority of his message. Since voices travel well across the water, Jesus escapes from the pressing crowds on the shore and continues to teach them from the boat. At the same time God’s word, having manifested so far by Jesus through his preaching and teaching, is also displayed in action. Jesus instructs Peter to row out to the deep water and lower the nets for a catch. Peter’s objection to Jesus’ words and then his acceptance (5,5) echoes Mary’s objection (1,34) and her acceptance of the word of God (1,38). Mary’s acceptance “let it be with me according to your word” marks the beginning of the new age of salvation; Peter’s acceptance marks the beginning of Christian discipleship. At all the critical moments of Luke’s gospel, we see that God’s ways always surprise us and reverse our human expectations. Peter’s astonishment at the catch of fish they had made (5,9) expresses again the wondrous reality that Mary observed, that “nothing will be impossible with God” (1,37).
நற்செய்தியாளர் லூக்கா இயேசுவின் போதனையை “இறைவார்த்தை” என்று குறிப்பிடுகிறார். இச்சொற்றொடர் தெய்வீக ஆதாரத்தை மட்டுமல்ல, அதன் அதிகாரத்தையும் வலியுறுத்துகிறது. ஓருவர் பேசும் வார்த்தை தண்ணீரில் தெளிவாக கேட்கப்படுவதால், இயேசு நெருங்கி வரும் கூட்டத்தினை தவிர்த்து படகில் நடுக்கடலுக்குச் சென்று கற்பிக்கத் தொடங்குகிறார். அதே வேளையில், இதுவரை இறைவார்த்தையை கற்பித்தும் அறிவித்தும் வந்தவர் இப்பொழுது அதைச் செயலில் வெளிக்காட்டுகிறார். “ஆழமான தண்ணீருக்குள் சென்று வலைகளை விரியுங்கள்” என்று இயேசு பேதுருவை அறிவுறுத்துகிறார். இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளை முதலில் பேதுரு மறுத்து, பின்னர் அதை ஏற்றுக் கொண்ட செயல் மரியாளின் மறுப்பையும் பின்னர் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டதையும் எதிரொலிக்கிறது. மரியாளின் பதில் “உமது வார்த்தையின் படியே எனக்கு ஆகட்டும்” என்று ஏற்றுக் கொண்டது மீட்பின் புதிய தொடக்கத்தைக் குறிக்கிறது. பேதுருவின் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளல் கிறிஸ்தவ சீடத்துவத்தின் ஆரம்பமாக விளங்குகிறது. லூக்கா நற்செய்தியாளரின் வர்ணணையில் எல்லா முக்கியமான தருணங்களிலும், கடவுளுடைய திருவுளம் எப்பொழுதும் ஆச்சரியத்தை தந்து, மனித எதிர்பார்ப்புகளைத் திசை திருப்புகின்றன என்று காண்கிறோம். அவ்வாறே இங்கும் பேதுரு படகுகள் மீன்களால் நிரம்பி இருப்பதைக் கண்டு வியந்தது மரியாவின் கண்கவர் உண்மைகளை மறுபடியும் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது: “கடவுளால் ஆகாதது ஒன்றும் இல்லை”.
