*7th Week in Ord. Time, Saturday – 2nd March 2019 — Gospel: Mark 10,13-16*
*Jesus receives the children of God *
Jesus marvels at the mystery of life that begins with full hope, and discovers the likeness of the Father in every unknown child. He demonstrates his tender love for children as he encourages the parents to bring their children to him to embrace and bless. He opens to everyone the richness of his heart. Jesus acts contrary to the accepted values of his day in which children had no legal rights or social status. Children were to be neither seen nor heard in public matters. No reason is given as to why the disciples tried to prevent parents from bringing their children to Jesus. Perhaps they thought that the children would be distracting and disruptive. But Jesus forbade anyone to hinder the parents from bringing their children to him. This is the only passage in the gospels in which Jesus is described as “indignant”, that indicates his outrage at an offence. He indicates in the strongest possible terms his desire that the children be given access to him. This is a fundamental attitude that one requires in order to receive the reign of God, and thereby become a part of it.
நம்பிக்கையுடன் தொடங்கும் வாழ்வின் இரகசியத்தில் இயேசு ஆச்சரியத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றார். மேலும், அறியப்படாத ஒவ்வொரு குழந்தையிலிருந்தும் இறைத்தந்தையின் உருவத்தை அறிந்து கொள்கிறார். பெற்றோர்கள் பிள்ளைகளை இயேசுவிடம் கொண்டு வந்து ஆசிரைப் பெற ஊக்குவிக்கின்றார். இவ்வாறு அவரின் மென்மையான அன்பை குழந்தைகளுக்கு நிரூபிக்கிறார். அவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் தன்னுடைய இதயத்தின் ஆழத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றார். குழந்தைகளுக்கு சட்ட உரிமை அல்லது சமூக அங்கீகாரம் இல்லாத சூழலில் இயேசு அவர்களை விரும்பி ஏற்றுக்கொள்வது சமூக செயல்பாட்டிற்கு எதிர்மாறான செயலாகும். காரணம், பொதுக் காரியங்களில் குழந்தைகள் காணப்படவோ அல்லது கேட்கப்படவோமாட்டார்கள். சீடர்கள் இயேசுவிடம் குழந்தைகளைக் கொண்டு வருவதை தடுக்க முயன்றது ஏன் என்பதற்கு இங்கு காரணம் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை. ஒருவேளை குழந்தைகள் கவனத்தைச் சிதறடிக்கும் அல்லது சிதைத்துவிடும் என்ற காரணத்தை நினைவில் கொண்டிருக்கலாம். ஆனால், இயேசு பெற்றோர்கள் தம் பிள்ளைகளை அவரிடம் கொண்டு வரும்போது தடைசெய்தவர்களை கண்டிக்கின்றார். எல்லா நற்செய்திகளிலும் இப்பகுதி மட்டுமே இயேசுவை “கோபமாக” விவரிக்கின்றது. குழந்தைகள் அவரிடம் அணுகுவதற்கான விருப்பம் மிகுந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பை அவருடைய ஆழமான கண்டிப்பில் காணலாம். இந்த அடிப்படை அணுகுமுறையும் எண்ணங்களும் ஒருவன் இறையாட்சியில் நுழைவதற்கும் அதில் பங்குபெறுவதற்கும் முத்தாய்ப்பாக அமைந்துள்ளன .
