It is remarkable that God chose to bring about his work of redemption through two human babies and their mothers. Jesus was still in Mary’s womb, yet in his presence Elizabeth and her own unborn son, John, were filled with the Holy Spirit. God used Jesus, even when he was just a fetus in the womb, to pour out divine love. This is a powerful scene that gives a glimpse of the forceful love of God, who simply pours out life and grace abundantly on those he has chosen. What a foreshadowing this is of the glory of the risen Christ, who wants to pour out his Spirit on all people. While this meeting between Mary and Elizabeth is unique, there is something more common that they experience. They are not only filled with the Holy Spirit, but are moved by the Spirit to respond humbly to the redemptive work of God. The Spirit then leads them forward to encounter each other so that they could share their joy and exchange in awe what was happening within them. In their reciprocal encounter they honoured each other as God’s blessed. God who has filled each of us with the Holy Spirit, now invites us to honour each other’s potential as we are created in his image.
கடவுள் தம்முடைய மீட்புப் பணியை இரண்டு அன்னையர் மூலமும் அவர்களுடைய குழந்தைகள் மூலமும் செயல்படுத்தினார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இயேசு மரியாவின் கருப்பையில் இருந்தார், எனினும், அவருடைய முன்னிலையில் எலிசபெத்தும் இன்னும் பிறப்புநிலை அடையா அவருடைய மகன் யோவானும் தூய ஆவியினால் நிரப்பப்பட்டிருந்தனர். கருவரையில் சிசுவாக இயேசு இருக்கும் போதே இறையன்பின் ஊற்றாக கடவுள் அவரை பயன்படுத்தினார். இக்காட்சி கடவுளின் சக்திவாய்ந்த அன்பின் தோற்றத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தும் உன்னதக் காட்சியாகும். இதனால் அவர் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தவர்களிடத்தில் வாழ்வும் அருளும் நிறைவாய் பொழிகின்றார். இச்செயல் எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் தம்முடைய ஆவியை ஊற்ற விரும்பும் உயிர்த்த கிறிஸ்துவின் மகிமையை முன்னறிவிக்கின்றது. மரியாள் மற்றும் எலிசபெத்தின் இச்சந்திப்பு தனித்துவமானது என்றாலும், அவர்களிடையே ஒர் பொதுமை அனுபவம் ஒன்றுபடுத்துகின்றது. அவர்கள் தூய ஆவியினால் மட்டும் நிரப்பப்பட்டிருக்கவில்லை; மாறாக கடவுளின் மீட்புச் செயலுக்கு தாழ்மையுடன் பதிலளிக்க இந்த ஆவியினால் தூண்டப்படுகிறார்கள். எனவே ஆவியானவர் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் சந்தித்துக்கொள்ள அவர்களை முன்னே அழைத்துச் செல்கின்றார். இதனால் அவர்கள் தங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியை பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளவும், அவர்களுக்குள்ளே நடக்கும் பிரமிப்பான நிகழ்வுகளை பரிமாறிக் கொள்ளவும் உதவுகின்றார். அவர்களின் பரஸ்பர சந்திப்பில் இருவரும் கடவுளின் ஆசிர்வாதம் என்று ஒருவருக்கொருவரை கௌரவித்துக் கொண்டனர். தூய ஆவியானால் நம் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் நிறைவாக்கி, அவருடைய சாயலினால் உருவாக்கிய கடவுள், நாம் ஒவ்வொருவரின் தனித்திறமையை அங்கீகரிக்க இப்பொழுது அழைக்கின்றார்.
