15th Week in Ord. Time, Wednesday – 17th July 2019 — Gospel: Mt 11,25-27
Gratuitous gift of Knowledge
Though Jesus experienced much rejection, many also accepted his preaching and received him. For this reason Jesus gives thanks to his Father, addressing him as “Lord of heaven and earth” and blending the same intimacy and reverence experienced in the Lord’s Prayer. Jesus expresses gratitude that God reveals the way of the Kingdom to “infants”, those who are humble and realize their dependence on God, rather than to those who are proud and consider themselves clever and smart. This unique bond between Jesus and his Father is the source of power and authority. This relationship delivers him knowledge directly from the Father, in contrast to the scribes and the rabbis whose tradition is on the human level alone (Mt 7,28-29; 15,1-20). Jesus is not pictured as a religious genius who has discovered the divine mystery, but as the beloved Son who is on an intimate union with God the Father. In the same way, only the unpretentious little ones, who make no claims about themselves, who are in union with the Father or the Son, will be given the gift of knowledge gratuitously.
இயேசுவை பலர் நிராகரித்திருந்தாலும், அவரையும் அவருடைய போதனையையும் பலர் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார்கள். இக்காரணத்திற்காக இயேசு தனது தந்தைக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றார். விண்ணகத் தந்தையே என்ற செபத்தில் உரையாடுவது போல, “விண்ணுக்கும் மண்ணுக்கும் ஆண்டவரே” என்பதில் அவருடைய நெருக்கத்தையும் மரியாதையையும் இங்கு உரையாடலாக வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றார். தற்பெருமை கொண்டவர்களையும் தங்களையே புத்திசாலிகளாக கருதுபவர்களைக் காட்டிலும், தாழ்ச்சியான உள்ளத்தோடு கடவுளை சார்ந்திருக்கும் “குழந்தைகளுக்கு” இறையரசின் வழியை கடவுள் வெளிப்படுத்தியதற்காக இயேசு நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றார். இயேசுவிற்கும் அவருடைய தந்தைக்கும் இடையிலான இந்த தனித்துவமான பிணைப்பு அவர் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட ஆற்றல் மற்றும் அதிகாரத்தின் மூலாதாரமாக அமைகிறது. மறைநூல் அறிஞர்களும் ரபிக்களும் மனித பாரம்பரியத்தையே நம்பியிருந்தாலும், இயேசுவின் இந்த உறவுநிலை தந்தையிடமிருந்து நேரடி அறிவை அவருக்கு பெற்றுத் தந்தது. இதில் இயேசு தெய்வீக ஞானத்தினால் மறையுண்மைகளை அறிந்து கொண்டார் என்று வர்ணிக்கவில்லை; மாறாக, இறைத்தந்தையோடு கூடிய நெருங்கிய ஒற்றுமையினால் அன்புக்குரிய மகனாக சித்தரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். அதே போல் எந்த ஆடம்பரமும் விளம்பரமும் இல்லா சிறு குழந்தைகள், இறைத்தந்தையோடு அல்லது மகனோடு ஒன்றித்திருக்கும் நிலையிலே அவர்களுக்கு இறையறிவு இலவசக் கொடையாக வழங்கப்படும்.
