GOSPEL READING: LUKE 24: 35-48
Individual experiences of the risen Lord are followed by group experiences. Individuals after having had their person la experiences rushed to the group to narrate. Individuals always communicated their experiences to the groups. As a group they were praying and disputing and discussing about these experiences. They were trying to find meaning for themselves and find meaning in the scriptures.
Jesus appeared to the groups as well and confirmed their personal experiences. As a group they received more tangible experiences. Here in this story, for example, he showed himself physically and also ate what was cooked. Thus he revealed to them that the risen Jesus is the same Jesus who was with them earlier and accompanied them. After these they are asked to be witnesses to the world.
