Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: MARK 14:12-16,22-26

Jesus is in control of the situation. He knows everything that is going o happen to him. It looks as if he has planned everything to the detail. He has not only planned but informed and arranged things for the feast and for the personal happenings of events. The last days events are what Jesus has willed (not my will but your will be done) and accepted and carried out.

Jesus has made the will of God his own. This was the reason he could boldly speak about the betrayal here. Because he has seen God in his life and lived God in his life the Passover event which was one of the main miracles of the Old Testament becomes personal happening. His life becomes a Passover. Every believer is given the chance to make Passover personal event in his own personal temporal, special, social context.

நடக்கின்ற> நடக்க இருக்கின்ற நிகழ்வுகள் அனைத்தும் இயேசுவின் திட்டத்திற்கு உட்பட்டவைகளாக இருக்கின்றன. இயேசு எல்லாவற்றையும் அறிந்திருந்தார். அவருடைய விருப்பத்திற்கேற்ப> இசைவிற்கேற்ப எல்லாம் நிகழ்கின்றன. இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்குமுன் நடந்த பாஸ்கா நிழ்வை தன் நிகழ்வாக> தன் கால> இட> சூழலுக்கொப்ப நிகழ்த்துகிறார்.

GOSPEL READING: MARK 12:38-44

The scribes are the show-pieces. They are the decorated models of religious piety placed marketplaces, synagogues, and at banquets. As show-pieces they are admired by the viewers and that is all. They are not original and authentic. They serve the eye of the viewers only. They also swindle the money of the poor and particularly of the widows.

The poor widow of this story does not serve the eye of the people. But Jesus’ eyes go straight at her. He points her out. Poor widow is a contributor and not a swindler. She does not live on others money. But contributes everything she has even her livelihood. This is the model of contribution.

மறைநூல் அறிஞர்கள் வெளி அடையாளங்களே. அடையாள பொம்மைகளே. பார்வைக்கு மட்டுமே. அவர்கள் கொள்ளையர்கள். பிறரிடமிருந்து பணம்> பொருள்கள்> வீடுகள் போன்றவகைளை கொள்ளையடிப்பவர்கள். இந்த கதையில் வரும் விதவை கொடுப்பவர். கொடுத்து கொடுத்து ஏழையானவள். தனது பிளைப்பிற்கென்றிருந்த சிறிய தொகையையும் கொடுத்தவள். தானம் செய்தலுக்கு எடுத்துக்காட்டு இவளே.
