Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 11:15-26

Here Jesus speaks about his power over evil and the evil spirits in general. Jesus claimed that this was from God and God was working in him and through him. But the unbelieving generation asked for a sign. Jesus challenged the source of the power of those among Jews who were driving out demons.

When Jesus chased out the demons from the people then the kingdom of God had come upon them. It was when the Jews chased our demons they were wandering among the people looking for a place to rest. They were the ones who returned to their original abode. When Jesus chased the out then the kingdom was established. The place was occupied by the kingdom and it was not empty.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 11:5-13

This is a wonderful story that narrates the importance of persistence in prayer. Prayer is in relationship. But at times even relationship is forgotten. Relationship is over looked. Even a close friend lets one down at the time of dire need. This happens when his personal life is touched.

However persistence will break any resistance and objections. This is in human terms. Also human relations will give only good things to the one who requests and that too because of relationship (father-son relationship). But god the father will give even greater good things for the one who needs it and requests it in prayer. He will give the greatest gift when asked for it: Holy Spirit.

பல வேளைகளில் தேவையின்போது உறவுகள்கூட கைவிரித்தவிடுகின்றன. ஆனால் தொடர்ந்து கேட்பதால் உறவுகளையும் தாண்டி உதவி கிடைக்கின்றன. மனித உறவுகள் தேவையின்போது நல்லதையே கொடுக்கின்றன. எல்லாவற்றிலும் சிறந்த கொடையை (தூய ஆவியை) கேட்போருக்கு கடவுள் கொடுப்பார்.
