Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 24:13-35

This is a beautiful image of Jesus. Jesus drew near and walked with them. They did not ask for Jesus. They did not pray to God for revelation. They worked with human calculations only. They knew that everything was over and it was their turn to plan their lives and go on with it.

Jesus (God) never let things happen in human calculations only. Human calculations should be accompanied by divine interventions. Here the divine interventions do not come down on them by force. God lets thing happen in a natural way and divine revelation should only be recognized by men in his own time and situation.

கடவுளின் வெளிப்பாடு திடீரென்று வியத்தகு முறைகளில் எப்போதும் நிகழ்வதில்லை. இயல்பாக> இயற்கையாக நடப்பதுதான். ஆகவேதான் இயேசுவும் நெருங்கி வந்து அவர்களோடு நடக்கிறார். அவர்களின் இயல்புக்கு ஏற்றதுபோல்> அவர்களின் வேகத்திற்கு ஏற்றதுபோல்> அவர்களின் புரிதலுக்கு ஏற்றதுபோல் தன்னையே வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார்.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 20:11-18

Mary stayed outside the tomb weeping. And this is what most of the followers do. They stay outside the tomb and weep. They do not enter into the tomb. They do not see the empty tomb. Emptiness for them is negative. It is frightening. It only triggers tear from the person. Emptiness outside (tomb) creates emptiness inside them.

Emptiness here was a place of revelation (the angels said that he is risen). Empty tomb said that Jesus was outside the tomb. In fact he was standing outside the tomb. We see what we want to see. Revelation makes us see what we should see; in fact revelation reveals the reality, the truth.

இயல்பாக கல்லறையில்; இறந்த உடலை காணச்செல்வர் (மரியாவும் அப்படித்தான் உடலைக் காணாததால் அழுகிறாள்). அவள் கண்ணால் காண்பது வெறுமை. ஆனால் வெளிப்பாடு வெளிப்படுத்துவது முழுமை> நிறைவு> உயிர்ப்பு.
