GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 13:54-58
And he did not work many mighty deeds there because of their lack of faith.

This passage is another proof for Jesus ministry. He was going about the villages and towns preaching the kingdom and working miracles. He was doing lot of healing miracles and the crowds were after him to be healed. He was a prophet like person. He was much more than a prophet and the people did not recognize that. In his home town people did not see him even as a prophet.
The people of his village had grown up with him. They have also seen him growing with them. They have the physical knowledge of him; they have the social knowledge of him; they have the human knowledge of him etc. This knowledge prevented them from seeing the divine presence in him. He had God in him and he was God. People lacked the faith to see God in him.

இயேசுவோடு வளர்ந்த மக்கள் (ஊர் மக்கள்) அவரை மனித நிலையில்; சமூக நிலையில்; உலக உறவு நிலையில் பார்க்கிறார்கள். அவருடைய செயல்கள், போதனைகள், அவர்களுக்கு தடைகற்களாக இருக்கின்றன. இயேசுவில் உள்ள கடவுளை; இயேசுவாக இருக்கின்ற கடவுளை அவர்கள் பார்க்க மறுக்கின்றனர்.
